Breakfast and Lunch Program

Studies show that students who participate in school meal programs consume more whole grains, milk, fruits, and vegetables, and have better attendance rates, fewer missed school days, and better test scores. School meals are a nutritious, convenient choice for families.

Families can apply to see if they qualify for school meal benefits for their children for the 2023-2024 school year. Please go online to https://paypams.com/OnlineApp.aspx and click the red “apply” button. For students eligible for reduced price meals, the price of breakfast is $.30 and lunch is $.40 per serving.

All students can participate in school meal programs. For students that are not eligible for free/reduced price meals, the price of breakfast is $2.70 and lunch is $4.00 per serving. Each meal includes one milk. Other items available include:
  • Milk only - $.50
  • A la carte Fruit and Juice - $.50
  • Ice cream - $1.00. Ice cream will be available by mid-September and must be purchased with cash. Lunch accounts cannot be used to purchase ice cream.
  • Employee meals - $3.20 for Breakfast and $4.50 for Lunch

Parent/guardians are responsible for reimbursing MICS for all meals charged to the student’s account within 5 school days. If an application is received at a future date, parent/guardians are responsible for the amount accrued prior to the date the application was received.

Parent/guardians are responsible for making sure their child has an approved application on file. If a letter detailing the status of the meal application is not received within 10 working days after the application is submitted, call Michelle Webster at (704) 827-8840 x 2105 to inquire about the status of your application.
