Mountain Island Charter School is seeking volunteers to serve on the MICS Board of Directors. The application for those interested in serving on the MICS Board is available by clicking HERE . Applications must be submitted to the MICS Secretary ([email protected]) on or before Friday, January 10, 2025, to be considered.
The Board is seeking candidates with specific experience and skills that will support the work done within the MICS Board Committees. In anticipation of board needs in the 2025-2026 school year, preferred candidates will have experience in finance. Preferred candidates may also possess experience in executive leadership, governance and/or K-12 educational settings. Candidates are encouraged to review the descriptions of the MICS Board Committees found HERE. Board members serve on two committees and are expected to provide 10-20 hours of service each month, with regular attendance at monthly board meetings and committee meetings.
Interviews will take place in January/February 2025. New Board members will be selected in March, officially starting their three-year term in July 2025. New Board members will be expected to attend Board Meetings in April, May, and June 2025 to facilitate their transition to the Board.
