MICS Choral Music Concert

Tuesday, December 4th at 6:30 pm
(New Elementary School Building Gym)
Featuring special performances by the 5th and 6th Grade Choirs as well as the inaugural performance by the MICS Middle/High School Chorus.  Admission is free, so please come out and support your fellow Raptors and the MICS Choral Music Program!

Celebrate Our Soldiers

If you have a family member that is a Veteran, or if you know of any Veterans that you would like to invite to this event, please have them come join us for a light breakfast on November 9th from 8:00-10:30 am in the media center located in the elementary school (D building). Veterans can bring in items to share if they choose to do so. Classes will have the opportunity to stop by and meet the Veterans.

Fall Book Fair

Our Online Fair is available from October 17 - November 3. The book fair will be here Wednesday, October 24 - Thursday, November 1. Shopping hours will be 7:30a - 3:30p and 8a - Noon on 11/1 during teacher conferences.  Students will preview Monday, October 22 and Tuesday, October 23.

MICS Mini Cheer Camp - deadline to register is Friday, October 12th

Come join the MICS varsity cheerleaders on October 23rd & 24th, 3:20-4:20 pm. This event will support the MICS varsity cheerleaders in their quest to the National High School varsity football game on Friday, October 26th. The game will begin at 7:30 pm. Entry fees to the game apply. Camp cost is $40 per camper and includes two days of camp, a performance shirt and a bow. There will be no refunds. The bell schedule for MS/HS on early release days is as follows:

Students in grades K-5 will eat lunch at 11:10 am.

1st Period: 7:30 - 8:00

2nd Period: 8:04-8:34

3rd Period: 8:38-9:08

4th Period: 9:12-9:42

5th Period: 9:46-10:16

6th Period: 10:20-10:50

MS/HS Lunch: 10:50-11:10

School Pictures by Mike Strauss Photography 9/24-9/26

School pictures will take place on September 24th-26th for students in grades K-11. The schedule is as follows:

Monday 9/24: 6th grade (during PE Class) and grades K/5.
Tuesday 9/25: 7/8th grade (during PE Class) and grades 1/4.
Wednesday 9/26: 9-11th grade (during Social Studies Class) and grades 2/3.

Running Raptors - Register by Friday, 9/21

The club will meet on Wednesday's from 3:15-4:15 from September 26th-November 7th (no meeting on October 31st). The cost of registration is $60 and includes a t-shirt. Each day we will start with a healthy snack, followed by an interactive lesson, and then enjoy running, jogging, or walking the campus. Runners will need to wear clothing layers and gym shoes to school that all for quick changes after school.

Middle School Dance - Rescheduled for September 21st, 6-8pm

Please be aware that the Middle School back-to-school Fiesta! dance for grades 6-8 has been rescheduled for Friday, September 21st from 6-8 pm. Summer Assignments

During the summer, students can potentially lose up to 3 months' worth of reading progress, adding up to almost 2 years of loss throughout a K-12 career.  Additionally, it is not uncommon for students to lose about two months of grade-level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months.
