SUMMER WORKOUTS
MS boys soccer would like to invite all rising male 6th, 7th and 8th graders to the Summer Development Series. For those who are interested in playing soccer next spring, the summer development series will focus on the players' technical soccer skills, allowing them to enjoy the game they love while preparing them for tough competition.

Future and current players will benefit from the fun team building environment while addressing 5 key elements of competition:
·SAQ (speed agility and quickness)
·Physical Fitness
·Strength, Power & Endurance
·Technical Development
·Tactical Team Development

Goalkeepers will receive separate, specialized coaching when available from Coach Johnson
These Summer Soccer Development Series will offer a great balance of individual skills as well as team development and strategies through daily competition.

Time : 10 am to 1pm (drop in and out as your schedule allows)
Where : MICS Stadium
When: Monday - Thursday June 24th-July 31st AND Open Play on Fridays 6:00-8:00 pm
What to Bring: water bottle, soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic wear.
Cost: no fee charged
Who: enrolled MICS students

All MICS student-athletes MUST have an approved NCHSAA SPORTS PHYSICALS (to be completed by a physician) and a MINOR LIABILITY WAIVER in order to be eligible to participate in off season workouts and to try out for a Fall, Winter or Spring sport prior to the first day of tryouts, no exceptions. If a player has played a previous sport, the player must have an UPDATED NCHSAA sports physical and minor liability waiver prior to the first day of tryouts/workouts.  Both forms are attached to this post.

Physicals and waivers are good for one full year (395 days). For example, if your player has had a NCHSAA physical completed on August 30, 2018, it is good until September 30, 2019. (Boy Scouts, Little League, or Well Check Exams are not accepted in place of an NCHSAA sports physical). Please do not include immunization forms.

You may send in paperwork thru the front offices, drop by Ms Bennett's office (D gym) to hand deliver, or fax to 704.827.8675.  Please do not email forms. 
 
Fall 2019 Tryouts
Date: Thursday, 8/1 AND Friday, 8/2
Time: 7:45 am-10:00 am
Location: MICS Field 2 (New field w/Track), meet in D gym foyer  (new gym)
 
All players must be present on BOTH dates in order to be considered for the team.

Each player must have an NCHSAA SPORTS PHYSICAL AND MINOR LIABILITY WAIVER  on file with Ms. Bennett before they participate. (NCHSAA physicals/waivers are good for 395 days).  All paperwork must be turned in prior to the first day of tryouts via one of the following:
  • At the front office
  • Ms. Bennett's office 
  • Fax to 704-827-8675
  • Hand deliver at tryouts upon checking in
 
Please DO NOT email the forms, all forms must be printed and turned in.  If your child's doctor is faxing the forms, they need to be faxed prior to the day of tryouts.
 
There will be an early bird paperwork day on Monday, July 29th from 5:30-6:30 pm in the D gym (lower school gym).
 
There is a mandatory parent meeting that will be held on Thursday, August 8th from 6:00-7:30 pm in the MICS D gym for those who have kids on a roster after tryouts are completed.  Attendance is required for your child to be eligible to participate, season information, transportation, schedule management, website, fees, policies, state-required forms, and information, etc. are all covered.
