Date: Monday, Oct. 12th- Thursday, Oct. 15th  Date subject to change based on state guidelines
Time: 3:30 pm-5:00 pm Possibility of multiple sessions to meet Covid guidelines
Location: MICS Campus, meet in D gym foyer (new gym)
IMPORTANT - You will need to pre-register for tryouts this year
All players must be present on ALL dates in order to be considered for the team. 
Practice info:
Practices will begin on Friday, October 16th 3:30-5:00 pm D Gym
Each player must have an NCHSAA SPORTS PHYSICAL AND MINOR LIABILITY WAIVER  on file with Ms. Bennett before they participate. (NCHSAA physicals/waivers are good for 395 days).  Boy Scouts, Little League, CMS or Well Check Exams are not accepted in place of an NCHSAA sports physical. Please do not include immunization forms. paperwork must be turned in prior to the first day of tryouts via one of the following:
  • At the front office
  • Ms. Bennett's office 
  • Dr. Fax to 704-827-8675

Pre-Participation Evaluation 

Due to the timing of the Stay at Home Order and restrictions some areas, in May, the NCHSAA recognized this issue and allowed for a one-year extension for many student athletes. The approved regulation now states:


All student athletes who had a valid Pre participation Examination (PPE) form dated anytime between March 1, 2019 – May 1, 2020 (used for the 2019-2020 seasons) will be granted a temporary one-year extension through the end of the 2020-2021 academic year. If the student does not have a valid form from these dates, they will need an updated physical form prior to any summer workout or season participation. 


Please be reminded that the student-athlete/family medical history portion of the PPE Form is required annually and must be completed and signed by the parent or legal custodian prior to participation during the 2020-2021 academic year. There is no waiver or extension applied to this requirement. 

Please DO NOT email the forms, all forms must be printed and turned in.  If your child's doctor is faxing the forms, they need to be faxed prior to the day of tryouts.  Forms are at the bottom of this page.
There is a mandatory parent meeting that will be held on Monday, October 19th 6-7:30 pm via Zoom/Virtual meeting, or Parent Square post for those who have kids on a roster after tryouts are completed.  Attendance is required for your child to be eligible to participate, season information, transportation, schedule management, website, fees, policies, state-required forms, and information, etc. are all covered.  The presentation will be sent out to all families with a child participating on a sports team, you will be responsible for the content.
